What it is
Tirzepatide activates two hormones, GIP and GLP-1, that control hunger and blood sugar. This dual action makes it the most effective approved weight loss injection available.
How it works
Reduces appetite, slows digestion so you feel full longer, and helps your body manage blood sugar more effectively after meals.
Weight loss
Up to 20.9% average body weight loss over 72 weeks at the highest dose (SURMOUNT-1 trial).
Dosing
Once weekly injection. Dose increases every 4 weeks:

Who it is for
Adults with a BMI of 30 or above, or BMI 27 or above with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes.

- Reduced appetite and mild fatigue
- Injection site redness or irritation
Not suitable if
You have a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN-2, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a history of pancreatitis.

What it is
Semaglutide mimics GLP-1, a natural hormone released after eating that signals fullness to your brain. It has 94% structural similarity to the hormone your body already produces.
How it works
Suppresses appetite via hunger centres in the brain, slows stomach emptying so you stay fuller for longer, and has shown benefits for heart health in clinical trials.

Up to 14.9% average body weight loss over 68 weeks at the highest dose (STEP-1 trial). Also shown to reduce cardiovascular risk by 20% (SELECT trial).
